Head Start, the highly successful federal development program that offers comprehensive services for your children and your entire family.
Foreclosure Prevention
Offered only at ABCD Mattapan Family Service Center. We’ll help you learn your rights about keeping your home and offer assistance so you can make better financial and housing related decisions.
Elder services include weekly exercise classes, educational classes, recreational activities and group outings. Senior Brown Bag, a food and nutrition program for the seniors, takes place the 4th Monday of each month from 9am to 12pm. In order to receive a brown bag, eligible seniors must call in advance to be placed on the list.
Immigration Services, which, along with civics classes, citizenship and naturalization support, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), include a range of related assistance.
As part of ABCD’s Winter Emergency Campaign, we offer our Adopt-a-Family program and provide holiday gifts to when available. You can access our computer lab and participate in workshops.
Wellness Waggin’ is a mobile veterinary unit outfitted with an exam room and a surgical suite. We provide high-quality, low-cost pet wellness care for residents of Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan in partnership with the Animal Rescue League Boston (ARL).

All ABCD locations serve income eligible residents in Boston and several neighboring cities and towns. In addition to our core resources, which you can access on our homepage or by clicking the “All Services” button in the main navigation, we offer individual case management and frequently conduct special workshops and classes. GIVE BACK BY VOLUNTEERING
ABCD could not do what we do without the help of passionate volunteers. Join us for a day-long project, help out at a major event, or lend a hand on a regular basis. You’ll make a world of difference to our neighbors in need.
NEIGHBORHOOD ROOTS
