BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — We are less than a week away from the April 15th deadline to file taxes.
Tax season may be the most stressful season of them all. That’s why some locals like Eva say they just haven’t found the time to file their taxes yet.
“Haven’t started yet. Should’ve. But I procrastinate with taxes. I hate it,” she said.
While she is planning to pick a date between now and next Wednesday to get it all done with, others can always request a tax extension. The extension gives taxpayers an additional six months to file, though payments are still due on April 15th to avoid penalties.

Andre, originally from the Commonwealth, now living in Texas, has advice for the procrastinators out there.
“Think about the IRS coming after you, and then that’ll motivate you to get it done,” Andre said.
Action for Boston Community Development, along with other coalitions across Massachusetts, offers free tax preparation services for residents who earned $69,000 or less in 2025.
