Food Stamps/SNAP
Don’t let questions about the application process hold you back. ABCD is here to help.
Who qualifies?
The Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) determines eligibility. While ABCD can guide you through the application process, we cannot confirm your eligibility.
We’ll walk you through the process
We know it can be overwhelming, but don’t let questions about applying for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)/food stamp benefits prevent you from getting the food assistance you need. ABCD is here to guide you through the application process in one-on-one appointments designed to get your application completed and processed – putting you one step closer to affordable food.
Walk-in application assistance appointments are available at every ABCD neighborhood site. We can usually help you complete and submit your application in a one hour session, and our knowledgeable staff will help with any follow-up.
We’re here to help ensure that you – and every eligible individual and family – receive the benefits you need. If questions or enrollment problems pop up as your application is being reviewed by DTA, ABCD is your advocate.
Things to know before arriving at your application assistance appointment:
- You’ll need to bring financial documents and identifying information for application purposes. Please call your nearest ABCD site for details.
- SNAP benefits commonly take three to four weeks to process. Additional resources such as food pantries are available for food emergencies and other immediate needs.
- ABCD does not determine SNAP eligibility.
