Adopt a Family
Boston families need your help
The ABCD Adopt a Family program pairs families in need with individuals, families, non-profits and companies who want to help a family during the holiday season or throughout the year.
Why is the need so great?
In Boston alone, there are almost 28,000 children living under the poverty level of $25,100 for a family of four. That’s 26 percent of all Boston children living in families where parents work two or three jobs — but struggle to pay rent, heat their homes and put food on the table.
You can help!
The ABCD Adopt a Family program asks you to commit to making one greater Boston family’s holiday joyful — really brighten the season! We’ll tell you all about them and give you their wish list the week of November 22, 2021. You will receive a profile of your sponsored family and help by fulfilling each families “wish list” of basic needs items along with gifts for the holidays.
You can give individually or as a group with your family, social or faith group, business, or benevolent society.
It takes just a little time and spending what works for you. Estimated costs are:
A family of 2: $250 – $300
A family of 4: $450 – $570
A family of 6: $720 – $900
A family of 10: $1,050 – $1,200
