Lynnette Sumpter serves in a Public Sector Seat representing Representative Chynah Tyler. Sumpter is a 7-generation Bostonian and retired from the Boston Police Department after 33 years. She taught criminal justice at Roxbury Community College and volunteers at the Boys and Girls Club after-school program. Sumpter received a BS in Criminal Justice from Boston State College/UMass Boston and a Masters in Criminal Justice from Boston University.
Sumpter rejoined the ABCD Board of Directors in 2020 and she serves as a member of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Committee, the Grievance Committee and the Personnel Advisory Committee.
