Sun and Stars Converge at TD Garden for Hoop Dreams 2025
TD Garden brings the energy, and Hoop Dreams 2025 was no exception. The 14th annual sports benefit brought together corporate sponsors and community organizations for a celebration of women in sports that raised critical funds for ABCD’s youth programming.
A huge thank you to the following people and organizations for making this event possible:
- TD Garden
- Brad Stevens, President of Basketball Operations for the Boston Celtics
- Bob Ryan, Legendary sports journalist and writer
- Abby Chin, NBC Sports Boston reporter and journalist
- Connecticut Sun President Jen Rizzotti, Sun star forwards Aaliyah Edwards and Aneesah Morrow, and the entire Connecticut Sun organization
- Shantell Jeter, Founder of You Got It, Girl
- Kisandra Ayanbeku, Founder of Still Got It, Athlete
- Shardé Marchewski, Global Head of Purpose and Inclusion at Wayfair
- Leo Ruiz, Vice President at Denterlein PR
- Vertex Pharmaceuticals
- SweatHouz
Teams competed in a half-court-style tournament under the championship banners and also took part in shootarounds, a meet-and-greet with the Sun players, and tours of the sports museum. Upon the conclusion of the tournament, players were invited to attend a Q&A in the Legends Club moderated by Bob Ryan and featuring Brad Stevens, Jen Rizzotti, and Abby Chin.
Proceeds from Hoop Dreams go towards supporting ABCD youth programs including SummerWorks, WorkSMART, Level Up, and Career Explorations — initiatives that offer paid internships, mentoring, academic support, and career training for youth ages 14–24. “Every team that takes the court at Hoop Dreams is investing directly in Boston’s future,” said ABCD President and CEO Sharon Scott-Chandler.
