Governor Maura Healey and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll at ABCD Hoop Dreams to support Boston youth

WHO: ABCD President and CEO Sharon Scott-Chandler, Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens, sports columnist Bob Ryan, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, event co-chair Merchant Resource Group CEO Peter Damato, and ABCD youth program participants and families.   

The lineup includes returning teams Vertex PharmaceuticalsNo Books No Ball (two teams), and for the first time as a shout-out to the WNBA, all women teams from the Honan Women’s Basketball League You Got it Girl and Still Got It Athlete.

WHAT: Hoop Dreams, ABCD’s annual fundraising basketball tournament to support a variety of youth programs that help young people academically, place them in paid jobs, and provide career readiness and other skills that will last a lifetime. Governor Maura Healey, Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll will meet players and volunteers, and dust off a few moves from their college days!

Players can drive the lane or shoot that buzzer three-pointer – while making a huge impact on the lives of young people in need of resources and opportunities. After the tournament trophy is awarded, players attend an exclusive catered Q&A with Boston Celtics leadership.

Players and refs arrive at 5 p.m. The Governor and Lieutenant Governor arrive at 5:30 p.m. Tip off is at 6:15 p.m.
