Who Qualifies?

If you’re a Boston student in grades 7 – 12 and you are 14 to 21 years old,
we encourage you to apply.

PUT YOUR ENERGY AND IDEAS TO WORK

We work with the public schools, local employers, community organizations and others to help you graduate high school, pursue further education, or land a great job.

Worksmart candidate gaining work experience WorkSMART is about learning to balance school and work while building the skills and confidence to succeed at both. During a 10 week internship, you’ll work 10 hours a week on a schedule that aligns with your school hours. We’ll partner with you to develop a personal and career development plan, and you’ll receive two hours of tutoring and counseling each week.

You will also have the option to enroll in a college course, certificate training and/or mentoring, and
receive professional social supports throughout the academic year.

We’ll make every effort to find a job that matches your interests. Participants are also guaranteed a place in the ABCD SummerWorks program, as well as a yearly WorkSMART placement until you graduate high school.
