Who Qualifies?

To be eligible for the MBTA Expanded Eligibility Reduced Fare Program, you need to meet a few simple requirements:

  • Be enrolled in one of the following state assistance programs:
    • MassHealth CarePlus
    • MassHealth Family Assistance
    • MassHealth Limited
    • MassHealth Standard
    • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
    • Transitional Aid to Families with Dependent Children (TAFDC)
    • Emergency Aid to the Elderly, Disabled & Children (EAEDC)
    • MASSGrant 
  • Age: You must be 18 to 64 years old
  • Residency: You must live in Massachusetts and have a government-issued ID

If you meet these criteria, you’re likely eligible for the reduced fare!
