Representing City Councilor Miniard Culpepper

Tariq Meyers serves in a Public Sector Seat representing Boston City Councilor Miniard Culpepper. Meyers is a Boston-born civic leader committed to expanding pathways to opportunity. Passionate about giving back to his hometown, he left the private sector to serve as Chief of Staff to Councilor Miniard Culpepper, representing District 7 on the Boston City Council. In this role, he helps shape legislative strategy and community engagement efforts across Roxbury, Dorchester, the South End, and Fenway, with a focus on civil rights, economic development, and strengthening civic participation.

Prior to public service, Meyers was a technology entrepreneur and equity leader. A Forbes 30 Under 30 recipient, he began his career as the first equity and inclusion leader at Lyft and Coinbase, building cultures where all talent could thrive. He later co-founded Untapped, one of the nation’s largest, venture backed early-talent marketplaces, helping more than one million learners access high-growth careers in technology and finance.

Meyers currently serves as Chief Careers Officer at Podium Education, designing programs that give college students real-world experience and a direct pathway to meaningful work. He serves on Mayor Wu’s SPARK Council and is a Young Professional Board member of Friends of the Children Boston. He is an MPA candidate at The Harvard Kennedy School.

Meyers joined the ABCD Board of Directors in 2026, and serves on the Employment & Training/Youth Committee.
