ABCD Board Treasurer

Patricia (Pat) Washington serves in a Private Sector seat representing the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. Pat Washington’s professional career spanned thirty-nine years of service with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Inc. (BCBSMA). During her tenure, she held a variety of leadership positions in Audit & Risk Management Advisory Services, Operations, Government Program Compliance, Finance and Information Technology. Prior to retirement, Pat was Vice President of the Audit & Risk Management Division and the Corporate Information Security Officer (CISO). In her audit & risk management role, she developed corporate audit strategy and provided leadership to the Internal Audit & Risk Management Advisory staff. As the CISO, she established the company’s Information Security policies, led corporate-wide information security training, monitored compliance with state & federal regulations and established corporate policy governing the protection of personal health information. She has a passion for leadership development and talent management and led BCBSMA’s Finance Development Job Rotation Program for over fourteen years. In this capacity, she recruited, coached and sponsored high-potential associates for future corporate leadership roles by combining a series of diverse job rotations with a competency-based development curriculum for each participant. Washington is currently an independent business consultant, providing executive coaching, leadership development and consulting services.

Washington currently serves on the following Boards: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Inc. Foundation, Cape Cod Community College, The Cottagers’, Inc. Martha’s Vineyard, and MVYRadio, Martha’s Vineyard.

Washington joined the ABCD Board of Directors in 2013 and is an officer of the Board serving as Treasurer. She was a 2015 recipient of the ABCD Community Service Award and serves as a member of following ABCD Committees: Executive, Finance, Grievance and Finance Committees.

Patricia Washington
