Calvin Conyers

Urban College of Boston

Calvin Conyers serves in a Neighborhood Sector seat representing the Urban College of Boston community, where he is the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management.  Urban College was founded by ABCD in 1967 as the Urban College Program and became a chartered, independent college in 1993.

Originally from New Jersey, Calvin is an accomplished higher education and enrollment leader with over two decades of experience in admissions, student recruitment, and academic access. Calvin began his professional journey in admissions at Mount Ida College, and from there built a robust career in admissions at Wheelock College, Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology and the National Aviation Academy, where he would become Vice President of Admissions and increase overall student enrollment by 17% through targeted outreach and improved conversion strategies.

In his role at Urban College, Calvin remains committed to mentoring students and shaping programs that expand educational opportunity, especially for students of color, nontraditional students, multilingual students and those from underserved backgrounds.

His work has been recognized by organizations like the National Urban League, which honored him with its People Making a Difference in Our Community Award. Calvin is a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling and New England Association for College Admission Counseling.

He holds a bachelor’s from Mount Ida College and received his master’s from Grand Canyon University.
