ABCD has been officially approved by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a certified Housing Counseling Agency. Only those agencies that meet strict HUD program and reporting guidelines earn this certification.  

What does this mean for our clients and our organization? 

As an organization already providing homelessness prevention and housing stabilization services, HUD certification means ABCD Housing can directly access HUD specialized programs for low and moderate income families. It also provides the opportunity for ABCD staff to attend HUD sponsored trainings to learn how to better serve clients with new and updated information on housing.  

Will services to our clients change? 

No. All ABCD services will remain the same. ABCD Housing will continue to provide assistance on eviction and homelessness prevention, housing stabilization services, shelter to permanent housing transition, as well as access to all other ABCD programs.  

What other programs are available for those who either own a home or are interested in purchasing a home? 

ABCD provides clients with assistance on home foreclosure prevention services at the Mattapan Family Service Center and a first time home buyer program offered by Financial Futures Initiative.
