At Action for Boston Community Development, Inc. (ABCD), we are committed to ensuring your privacy. This privacy policy describes the information we gather from this website and how we use that information. Non-Personally Identifiable Information

We may use non-personally identifiable information collected from you and other website users to perform statistical analyses of user behavior and characteristics. These aggregated statistics would be used to improve the site and for product development and marketing purposes generally. We also may provide such aggregated information to funding sources and other third parties for certain purposes, but such statistics contain no personally identifiable information and cannot be used to gather such information.

Personally Identifiable Information

The personally identifiable information you provide to us when using this site may be used to provide products and services to you, to enhance your experience at the site, and, if applicable, to enhance your experience as a user of ABCD’s products and services. The ways in which we use your personally identifiable information will be set forth, and consented to by you, either when you register to use our site or when you first use the site.  Information about you may also be received by us when the site is accessed by you via various social media outlets.  Your privacy settings with the social network generally establish the amount and type of data that we may receive from it.  You should adjust your privacy settings to your preferences on those social media outlets

Outside Contractors

We may employ independent contractors, vendors and suppliers (collectively, “Outside Contractors”) to provide specific services and products related to ABCD and the site, such as providing credit card processing and fraud screening, order fulfillment and shipment, mailing of ABCD publications and other materials, hosting and maintaining the site, and developing applications for the site. These Outside Contractors may sometimes have limited access to information collected from you, including your personally identifiable information, in the course of providing products or services to us. Access to your personally identifiable information by these contractors is limited to the information reasonably necessary in order for these Outside Contractors to perform their limited function for us. We also require that these contractors (i) protect the privacy of your personally identifiable information consistent with this Privacy Policy, and (ii) not use or disclose your personally identifiable information for any purpose other than providing us with products or services for which we contracted.

Voluntary Disclosure by You to Third Parties

You should be aware that if you voluntarily disclose personally identifiable information in an e-mail or other communications with third parties listed on the sites or in other materials, that information, along with any other information disclosed in your communication, can be collected and correlated and used by such third parties and may result in your receiving unsolicited messages from other persons. Such collection, correlation, use and messages are beyond our control.

ABCD may use Cookie-gathered data in order to: (i) facilitate your use of the site such as remembering information to avoid you having to subsequently re-enter it on your next visit to the site; (ii) customize your experience on the site; (iii) collect aggregate metrics such as aggregate visitors, demographic usage, geographic usage and total traffic to the site; (iv) for quality assurance purposes and to correct malfunctions; and (v) to provide site enhancements and evaluations.

Outside Contractors and other linked sites may use Cookies and collect and use your information derived therefrom differently than ABCD.  You must refer to their applicable terms regarding the same.  We are not responsible for the use of Cookies and collection and use of your information for anyone other than us

Reservation of Rights

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable and non-personally identifiable information to any third party if we believe that we are required to do so for any or all of the following reasons: (i) to satisfy any applicable law or regulation; (ii) to comply with legal processes, subpoenas, court orders or governmental requests; (iii) to prevent, investigate, detect or prosecute criminal offences or attacks on the technical integrity of the web site or our network; and/or (iv) to protect the rights, property, or safety of ABCD, the users of the web site, or the public.

If you supply ABCD with your e-mail address, you may receive periodic electronic mailings from us regarding current developments, new products and services, or upcoming events. If you ever wish to stop receiving such mailings please contact us at info@bostonabcd.org.

This website contains links to other websites. ABCD is not responsible for the privacy policies of these sites.

To preserve the integrity of our databases, we retain information that you submit to us or that we collect while you are registered with the site and for a commercially reasonable time thereafter. If required by law, we will erase your uniquely identifiable registration and use information by erasing it from our systems, though residual copies of the same may thereafter remain in site and database back-ups, archival and audit purposes and the like.

We will not be able to delete any content you have shared with others or with social media sites.

Storage and Protection of Your Information.

ABCD uses commercially reasonable physical, administrative, and technological safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of all information we collect and that we share with our Outside Contractors, users and service providers. However, no security system is impenetrable and we cannot guarantee the security of our systems 100%. In the event that any information under our control is compromised as a result of a breach of security, we will take reasonable steps to investigate the situation and where appropriate, notify those individuals whose information may have been compromised and take other steps, in accordance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Changes to this Policy

We may revise this privacy policy from time to time. The most current version of the privacy policy will govern our collection, use, and disclosure of information about you and will be located on the site.  By continuing to access the site or use any services and products related thereto after those changes become effective, you agree to the revised privacy policy.
